Thing 9

I used this video in my Language Arts class to have some fun with grammar.  I found it to be a hilarious spoof on MC Hammer...however, the kids did not get it until I showed them an MC Hammer video.

Thing 6

I chose this picture because it illustrates some of the weapons used in the Civil war.

Thing 4

The tools for organizing my RSS feeds will be very helpful as I continue to add to my list of interests.

Thing 4

The tools available to organize your RSS feeds will be helpful as i acquire more & more information through my feeds.  Can't wait to find time to add some feeds!

Thing 5

Once the RSS feeds are established it is extremely helpful in gathering the latest history.  I get sidetracked sorting through all of the information on the web.

Thing 3

Funny title..."Confessions from the Couch, tales from an Urban Teacher on the front lines," blog was informative & inspiring.  It first got my attention with the subtitle, meaningful bell work.  For the first time in my career, I have struggled this year with students' focus for my warm ups. This blog gave me a good idea for students to create a rhyme to demonstrate their knowledge of a topic as a warm up. I added "Video Bonus" on Monday's...a historical question with a video for students to solve by the end of the week.  It has helped some, but at times I still find my students to be unfocused during warm ups.

Thing 1 & 2

On my way!!!  Hopefully "23 Things" will help reinforce the use of blogs & wikis.  I am still grappling with the challenge of how to incorporate responsible use of this "new" technology within my classroom.

The main goal I have for myself is to regularly update my blog and construct an Igoogle page to organize all of these new tools.
